This page will serve as a collection of resources to support the implementation of Magellan's One-to-One pilot in the fall of 2012.

Navigator Project Handbook: Responsible Use Policies

Aproximately 68 sixth grade students and 5 teachers will embark on the pilot. Each will receive a school-owned Lenovo x130e Ultraportable laptop. The laptops will be loaded with Windows 7 Professional operating system and Microsoft Office 2010 Standard edition. The devices will be joined to the Magellan network and will be managed through Active Directory and Group Policy. 24/7 content filtering will occur through the Z-Scaler firewall appliance. Both local and network storage will be available.A Google Education domain will be established for Magellan which includes student email and online document storage. This will also allow for online document sharing and collaboration.

Our Magellan students and teachers are already familiar with the Windows 7 operating system.
It will be necessary for most students and teachers to learn about Office 2010 productivity products and OneNote in particular. The Google Education domain will also be new. Students will need to learn to use these appropriately. Yearly digital citizenship lessons and AUP lessons are provided by the Instructional Technology teacher and reinforced by the classroom teachers.
